In preparation of Dr. Seuss' birthday, my class created their "Wockets." Students were given different colored construction paper to create their own creatures.
After they created their "Wockets" they named it. Their name needed to rhyme with the word Wocket. They cut out a pocket and glued it on another piece of colored construction paper.
After the pocket was glued students placed their creature inside of the pocket.
The final part of this fun activity was for them to write about what they would do with their creature. My students were extremely creative with their creations and their writing.
